The preliminary round at the 2019 National Junior A Championship will end with a first-place showdown between unbeaten teams after the Prince George Spruce Kings shut down the Portage Terriers for their third win.

PRINCE GEORGE SPRUCE KINGS 5, PORTAGE TERRIERS 1
Dylan Anhorn, Chong Min Lee and Ben Brar scored in the first period, and the Spruce Kings held the Terriers to 10 shots on goal in a win Wednesday night. Lee finished with a goal and an assist, while Dustin Manz chipped in a pair of helpers for Prince George, which has allowed only 44 shots in three games.

“[The Terriers] were knocked out of the tournament, but today was still an important game – it was a tune-up game for us. We needed to clean things up and build going into tomorrow against Brooks. We need to have a good start; we’ve struggled with them throughout the tournament. We fixed it today, and tomorrow we need to try and get the crowd out of it early and just play our game.”
-- Brar on working out the kinks and getting ready for Brooks
