Quotes:

“I do not think we had as much energy as our previous games and we did not execute quick enough, which is something that made us successful against other teams. In tournaments like this, the quarterfinals can be games you dread. You can find yourself up against a team that has nothing to lose, and we have to give [Switzerland] credit. They took it to us and played a great game, but we found a way to win and that is what good teams do.”

- Head coach Dave Cameron (Kinkora, P.E.I./Ottawa, OHL) on the challenges of the quarterfinals

“We have talked a lot about doing our part to help our team win a gold medal, and this is just the next step in the right direction. We have to focus on one game at a time, and we still need to play our best in the semifinals to have a chance at gold. We do not know who we are going to play yet, but either way our opponent is going to want to win just like us. Regardless of who we play, we are going to give it our best effort.”

- Gaucher on advancing to the semifinals

“I do not think it was our best game, but we were able to find a way to win and that is what matters. We are off to the semifinals, and we have a day to regroup, watch some video [on other teams] and prepare so we can make sure we bring our best effort against our next opponent. Having a chance to win a medal is motivating, and obviously we are looking for gold, but we know we need play our best in the semifinals to have a chance at that gold medal.”

- Stankoven on today’s performance and playing for a medal
