Quotes :
“We transitioned the puck really quickly today, we worked on some things in practice that we were able to implement in the games and it was just nice to get some offence. We did give up the goal late which was a bit of a defensive zone breakdown, a dead-angle shot that we have to tighten up on so that doesn’t happen again.”
- Head coach Troy Ryan (Spryfield, N.S.) on his assessment of the game

“We had a bit of a long week, and Thursday getting our legs under us was a bit tougher than we thought. We took the good things from that game into today and kept building each period. I thought we had success when we were shooting the puck and getting bodies to the net.”
- Spooner on finding success from creating good habits in the game

“I’ve really missed being around the team and the girls and I think the best part of the weekend was being in the dressing room with them. Overall, it felt like a fairly seamless transition back into things. I’ve taken time off before [when I was] having kids, so not playing a game for six-and-a-half months didn’t feel that long. I just tried to do a good job, stay up to speed on systems, concepts, video presentations and talking to my teammates about what we’re trying to accomplish, and that helped as well. Obviously, you always want to be better and there’s things I’ll take away from the weekend to improve on moving forward.”
- Meaghan Mikkelson (St. Albert, Alta.) on her first games back following a knee injury
