CALGARY, Alta. – Twenty-three of the nation’s top players have been named to Canada’s National Women’s Team when it faces the United States in the three-game, cross-border Rivalry Series next month in Southern Ontario and Michigan.

Canada’s roster was selected by head coach Perry Pearn, alongside Gina Kingsbury, director of women’s national teams, with support from head scout Melody Davidson, as well as the coaching staff and regional scouts.

“It’s exciting to have the opportunity to showcase our sport and its elite athletes from both sides of the border, and we hope to inspire young girls to play the game,” said Kingsbury. “This series will also be an important evaluation process and measuring stick for us as we look ahead to the IIHF Women’s World Championship in Finland in April.”

The series kicks off Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 7 p.m. ET at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ont., followed by a game Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. ET at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto before shifting to the U.S. for the series finale on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 12 p.m. ET at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Mich.

Canada’s National Women’s Team roster for the Rivalry Series includes:

  • 17 players who won a silver medal with Canada’s National Women’s Team at the 2018 4 Nations Cup in Saskatoon, Sask. (Bach, Fast, Fortino, Gosling, Jenner, Johnston, Krzyzaniak, Larocque, Maschmeyer, Nurse, Poulin, Rattray, Saulnier, Spooner, Stacey, Szabados, Turnbull);
  • 14 players who won a silver medal with Canada’s National Women’s Team at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea (Fast, Fortino, Jenner, Johnston, Lacasse, Larocque, Lacquette, Nurse, Poulin, Saulnier, Spooner, Stacey, Szabados, Turnbull).
