SAINT-HYACINTHE, Que. – Excitement continues to build for Canada’s Men’s U18 National Club Championship with the release of the official schedule. The tournament runs April 24-30 at Stade L.P. Gaucher in Saint-Hyacinthe, marking its return to Quebec for the first time since 2015.

The 2023 Men’s U18 National Club Championship represents a partnership between Hockey Canada, Hockey Quebec and the host Gaulois de Saint-Hyacinthe, as well as the host organizing committee.

The Gaulois will be joined by champions from the Atlantic, Central, Pacific, Quebec and West regions as the team looks to capture its first national title. The Gaulois’ best finish was a silver medal in 2003 in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., when the event was known as the Air Canada Cup. The then-known Gaulois du Collège Antoine-Girouard went undefeated through the preliminary-round before falling to the Calgary Northstars in the gold medal game.

“It is always exciting when you announce the schedule and move one step closer to showcasing the top under-18 Canadian talent to hockey fans,” said Dean McIntosh, vice-president of strategic partnerships and community impact for Hockey Canada. “Saint-Hyacinthe has patiently waited for three years to host this premier event and we know the host committee will make it a memorable event for fans and the competing teams.”

The tournament kicks off April 24 with the Central Region champions taking on the titlists from the Atlantic Region at 12 p.m. ET, followed by the Quebec champs taking on the West winners at 3:30 p.m. ET. Opening-day action concludes with the host Gaulois beginning their quest for gold against the Pacific Region champions at 7 p.m. ET.

Tickets are on sale now for the 2023 Men’s U18 National Club Championship at HockeyCanada.ca/Tickets.

TSN and RDS, the official broadcast partners of Hockey Canada will air the gold medal game on April 30; check local listings for details. All preliminary-round games, both semifinals and the bronze medal game will be available via livestream at HockeyCanada.ca.

A key component with all of Hockey Canada’s national championships is leaving a lasting legacy long after the tournament has ended. Net proceeds (profits) remain in the local community to support and grow the game locally in Saint-Hyacinthe.
