UPDATE on 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship tickets


Due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 and the Omicron variant, the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) announced Dec. 29 the cancellation of the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. The decision was made with the support of Hockey Canada to ensure the health and safety of all participants.

Due to the cancellation of the tournament, tickets are no longer available. Current ticket holders will be contacted by email with more information.

Q: When does the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship take place?

A: The 2022 World Juniors will take place at Rogers Place in Edmonton and the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer in from Dec. 2021 to Jan. 5 2022.

Q: I purchased tickets for the 2022 World Junior, now that capacity has been reduced to 50%, can I still attend?

A: All ticket holders will receive detailed communication regarding their options by email by end of day on Dec. 23.

Q: I am concerned about COVID-19, can I request a refund on my 2022 IIHF World Junior tickets?

A: All ticket holders will receive detailed communication regarding their options by email. Refunds will be available in most cases. Alternatively, fans are encouraged to check out the first ever 3D World Juniors Virtual Experience.

Q: I would like to be contacted if single-game tickets become available.

Q: I can’t attend the 2022 World Juniors in person, how can I engage with the event if I don’t have tickets?

Q: How many games will be played during the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship?

A: Ten countries will play a total of 31 games (excluding pre-tournament games).

Q: When is the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship schedule being released?

A: The official 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship schedule was announced Nov. 4.

Q: I purchased a ticket package in 2021 and retained my seats for this year’s event. When should I expect to receive communication on my current ticket package?

A:  Emails were sent out to all ticket package holders from the Oilers Entertainment Group (OEG)/Rogers Place on Thursday, Nov. 4 with information on your ticket packages. Please ensure to check your junk/spam folder if you did not receive this email directly.

Q: When will I receive my tickets that I purchased for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship?

A:  Tickets were issued out for all package holders by Dec. 12. Tickets w ere uploaded into your Rogers Place Account Manager for all Edmonton ticket package holders and distributed via email by Tickets Alberta to all Red Deer package holders.

Q: Will proof of a negative COVID-19 test be accepted for entry into the venue for the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship?

A: Full vaccination from COVID-19 is mandatory to attend the 2022 IIHF World Junior Championship. Negative tests will not be accepted. Alberta’s vaccine record with a QR Code (paper or digital) will be the only valid Alberta proof of vaccination
