The Pond to Podium Development Series connects coaches, players, officials and parents directly with resources from athletes, coaches and staff from Canada’s men’s, women’s and para hockey teams. It provides practical expertise and behind-the-scenes content for all levels of hockey to assist stakeholders in reaching the top of their own personal podium.

PANEL #1 | 11:30-12:30 p.m. ET
Women’s Leadership: Examples of how to advance the women’s game through role models and ambassadors will be discussed, along with the identification of steps to intentionally invite and encourage women into leadership positions by creating positive and welcoming environments. This session will be delivered in English with simultaneous French translation.
The panel will be moderated by Tessa Bonhomme. Panelists include Meghan Hunter (Director, Hockey Administration and Amateur Scout, Chicago Blackhawks), Gina Kingsbury (Director, Women’s National Teams, Hockey Canada), and Tunisha Singleton, PhD (Interim President, Black Girl Hockey Club)
PANEL #2 | 1:00-2:00 p.m. ET
Growing the Game: Practical examples on how to grow women’s hockey and girls and women in the game will be shared. Experiences with growing an all-girls local hockey association as well as growing the number of girls playing in a local hockey association will be discussed. This session will be delivered in English with simultaneous French translation.
The panel will be moderated by Cheryl Pounder. Panelists include Denise Broadbent (Vice-President, Female Hockey, Leduc Minor Hockey Association), Mandi Duhamel (Regional Director, Industry Growth & Youth Programs, NHL), Tom Renney (CEO, Hockey Canada), Fran Rider (President & CEO, Ontario Women’s Hockey Association), and Amy Walsh (Executive Director, Hockey Nova Scotia).
